The Montana Capitol Restoration Foundation presents the 2017 Souvenir Ornament: A Capitol Winter by Bob Morgan.
Beloved Montana artist Robert F. Morgan captures Montana's majestic state Capitol, framed by a dramatic sky in A Capitol Winter. Born on a ranch in the Helena Valley on August 20, 1929, Morgan returned to Helnea after serving in the U.S. Naval Reserve. From 1962 to 1972, he served as curator at the Montana Historical Society; he later served on the Montana Historical Scoiety's board of trustees. A renowned expert on the art of Charles M. Russell, Morgan became a fulltime artist in his own right, creating over 3,000 paintings, most of which have historical themes, but all of which celebrate Montana.
The 2017 ornament features a painting of the Capitol in winter on the front, and a photograph of the Capitol rotunda by Jason Savage on the back.
