This black tea is balanced with elderberries, elderflower, blackberry and lime leaves, cranberry bits, safflower petals and other natural flavors. The fruity florals balance the strong, robust black tea and the berries add a touch of sweetness. Enjoy hot during an evening storm or iced on a sunny summer day.
To make the perfect cup of Gunpowder tea, you will want to use 1 teaspoon of tea leaves for each 8-ounce cup. For an optimal flavor experience, bring the water to about 175°F. This is important, as green tea is delicate and will become quite bitter if it is steeped in water that is too hot. If you do not have an electric tea kettle with a temperature setting, bring your kettle to a full boil, then remove it from the heat and let the water sit for a moment before steeping the tea. Some people enjoy Gunpowder tea with a short 1-minute steep, while others prefer the stronger flavors of a 3-minute steep. We recommend capping the steep time at 3 minutes to avoid a bitter taste.
Each glass jar contains roughly 2 oz of loose-leaf tea, depending on density of the tea it may be slightly less or slightly more. Each jar contains enough tea to make 10 strong cups or 15 standard cups of tea. Contains Caffeine.
