Made of a blend of rooibos superior, orange peel, how currants, rosehips, and hibiscus this bold, earthy, floral blend brings to mind the wild outdoors. Rooibos tea has a unique reddish-brown color when steeped. It tastes naturally sweet and slightly nutty, with hints of honey and vanilla.
To make the perfect cup of Glacier tea, you will want to use 1 teaspoon of tea leaves for each 8-ounce cup. For an optimal flavor experience, bring the water to about 200°F. This is important, as black tea will become quite bitter if it is steeped in water that is too hot. If you do not have an electric tea kettle with a temperature setting, bring your kettle to a full boil, then remove it from the heat and let the water sit for a moment before steeping the tea. Some people enjoy Glacier tea with a short 1-minute steep, while others prefer the stronger flavors of a 3-minute steep. We recommend capping the steep time at 3 minutes to avoid a bitter taste.
Each glass jar contains roughly 2 oz of loose-leaf tea, depending on density of the tea it may be slightly less or slightly more. Each jar contains enough tea to make 10 strong cups or 15 standard cups of tea. Caffeine Free!
